SPD fördert „Slow Down Tennessee“, um Unfälle aufgrund von Geschwindigkeitsüberschreitungen zu reduzieren

Gepostet am 04.

The Sevierville Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to promote “Slow Down Tennessee.” During April 15 – 29, SPD will increase education, awareness, and enforcement efforts to help reduce speeding-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities statewide.

SPD officers will be concentrating on speed enforcement throughout the city during this period and utilize social media to increase awareness of the dangers of speeding. “Our goal is to help reduce speed-related crashes and make our roads as safe as possible,” said SPD Major Sam Hinson. “This includes issuing warnings and enforcing speed-related laws, when necessary. Our crash numbers have been getting lower and we hope that trend continues.”

Over the past three years, Sevierville has seen a 26.8% reduction in speed-related crashes.

The State of Tennessee requires motorists to always exercise due care and maintain a safe speed while driving. Speed limits may vary depending on the county and road conditions; therefore, drivers must always pay attention and adhere to posted speed limits to ensure the safety of all roadway users.
